You must be wondering what the term Trichological means. I'm coming… Trichology is the science of the scalp and hair. But still ... Philip Kingsley is like who would say to the origin of this concept.

P hilip Kingsley nicknamed The Hair Doctor by the international press is a founding member of the Institute of Trichologists. In the 1950s, he conducted research in the fields of physiology, dermatology, nutrition, genetics, endocrinology and cosmetics in order to develop solutions that make it possible to offer care adapted to each type of hair. This is how the Philip Kingsley London hair range was born , a concept that has a very different approach to hair care.

In the preamble, Philip Kingsley asks us to abandon the standard reflexes which consist in choosing his hair care according to the state of his hair (dry, damaged, greasy ...). According to him, what prevails is his type of hair . There are 3, depending on its ethnic origin.

According to these elements which we combine with the length of his hair and the treatments they have undergone, we manage to determine the care that corresponds to his real needs.

I was very skeptical. I was even more so, after having learned about the very particular way of using Philip Kingsley washing beauty products . The results are surprising. 

My hair is therefore of the Thick type , medium-length and not colored . The treatments I tested were therefore: Elasticizer Extreme, Remoisturizing Shampoo and Remoisturizing Conditioner .

Step 1.

Elasticizer Extreme applies to wet hair, strand by strand over the entire length. Leave on for 10 to 20 minutes, covering the hair with a swimming cap if possible. Then, rinse thoroughly.

In my opinion, it was unfeasible because, once wet or even slightly moistened, my hair becomes tangled. Besides, I never thought of being able to apply Elasticizer Extreme . I was wrong all the way. Not only did my hair not get tangled, but I also applied this pre-shampoo treatment thoroughly as indicated above with ease. My hair instantly became supple, soft, hydrated and nourished.

It is a unique treatment, very effective, which restores strength and vigor to brittle, dull, dry, bland and damaged hair.

Step 2.

Remoisturizing Shampoo is a fairly classic shampoo I thought. Not quite. The peculiarity of this shampoo is that it gets to penetrate the thickness of my hair, to thoroughly sweep the entire surface of my scalp without needing to make too much effort. We can feel the presence of foam in the scalp (which does not invade the whole hair). The sensations of Remoisturizing Shampooare very different and very surprising from other shampoos. It is a product that remains "capillarily" pleasant to use. It is recommended to regularly run your hand through the hair to prevent it from becoming tangled. Good advice because it works. After being shampooed twice and then rinsed, my hair is much less tangled and very shiny.

As for the amount of product needed, I put more than a dab of shampoo each time.

Step 3.

This is the most surprising and the most practical. Remoisturizing Conditioneris the equivalent of conditioner or cream bath. So I followed the indications which recommend taking a small hazelnut (much more in my case) of Remoisturizing Conditioner in the palm of the hands then, rub them and apply the product on wet hair for 30 seconds. There is no point in rubbing the scalp. Then I rinsed off. And that's all. But, but ... What about the usual operation which consists of applying your conditioner, untangling and then waiting around twenty minutes for the product to soak into the hair? Disappeared with Remoisturizing Conditioner. It's a huge time saver at this level. But still, my hair was 35% less tangled than usual, easier to style, still as soft, silky, supple and shiny.

On the site it is indicated that Remoisturizing Shampoo and Remoisturizing Conditioner are used every day. Disagree on this point with Philip Kingsley. The ideal frequency for shampooing frizzy hair is once a week.

FINAL VERDICT.

Philip Kingsley washing beauty products are surprisingly effective, but above all, they act immediately, making the hair soft, beautiful, hydrated and nourished. I appreciated the creamy texture of these products. The smell is imbued with a certain sophistication that made me think of upscale hair salons. The prices are generally quite high. But, given the results, I would say that it is a thoughtful and sensible expenditure. You can also get a first idea of the beauty products by buying the smallest quantities. So, Remoisturizing Shampoo or Remoisturizing Conditionerin bottles of 75ml will cost you respectively the amounts of 11 € and 15 €, which will allow you to carry out 3 to 4 sessions of shampoo maximum (on medium-length hair). Having received these quantities, I was able to verify it. As for the practical aspect, I noted that, the plastic bottles, surmounted by a transparent conical stopper are original but, a little too rigid for my taste. At worst, we unscrew the cap to recover its container.

Still in the afro range, I ask for two intensive scalp treatment products. These are Scalp Mask and Scalp Toner .
